The center supports research programs of faculty and graduate students on topics regarding exercise, nutrition, diseases, etc. The center is composed of 5 laboratories used to gain greater understanding of human health, exercise, and injuries.

The center is headed by a director and is part of the College of Life Sciences. It is run by members of the exercise science faculty.
