Functions

The Honors Program exists to provide a rich and challenging university education out of the realm of an average undergraduate student's experience. The Honors Program facilitates this by aiding students in establishing methods of learning and appreciation of the cultural heritage of the world that are meant to last a lifetime. Honors education provides not simply a more intensive general education or major program but an overall enriched education.

Assets and Administrative Structure

The Honors Program was administered by an associate dean dedicated to Honors, with the additional title of Honors Program Director, from 2002-2009. Beginning in 2009, an associate dean has served as the Honors Program Director; while not given the specific title Associate Dean-Honors, the dean is still responsible for the Program, and reports to the Dean of Undergraduate Education.
