In 1986 the Health Professions Advisement Center was created as a separate entity from the College Advisement Center to administer academic counsel. Don D. Bloxham served as director from 1986 to 2006 when the center was abolished.

Functions

The Health Professions Advisement Center will help pre-professional students in health-related fields. These fields included: biomedical engineering, dental hygiene, dentistry, health administration, medicine, optometry, osteopathic medicine, pharmacy, podiatry, and physician's assistant. The center would provide accurate counsel to help students achieve a successful transition into professional schools. Advisers would also help students apply for admission to professional schools.

The center was administered by a director, under the direction of the college dean.
