Brigham Young University. Handicapped Student Services
Established in 1979, the Handicapped Student Services served the emotionally and physically handicapped students of the University. Operating under Student Auxiliary Services until 1990, it was then placed within Student Life and renamed Disabled Student Support. Advisers included: Denmark Jensen (1979-1981), Norman Roberts (1981-1987), Michael Whitaker (1987-1988), Teri Jensen (1988-1990).

Functions
Handicapped Student Services facilitated the physically and mentally handicapped students of the University, offering ASL services, readers for the visually impaired, braille writers, book lockers, and other various amenities geared towards enabling handicapped students. Assistance was also available toward obtaining appropriate class loads and making appropriate career preparation through this office.
