Financial Services began overseeing all University financial functions in 1971, including student financial aid. It oversaw the Treasurer's, Accounting, Budget and Procedures, Telephone and Financial Aids Offices, and the Payroll and Internal Auditing Departments. The director of Financial Services was Lyman J. Durfee (1967-1987). Sometime between 1975 and 1979, the director of Financial Services was given the title Associate Administrative Vice President-Finance. Clyde R. Morrell filled this role from 1987 to 2000. Brian Evans became Associate Administrative Vice President-Finance in 2000. In 2003, the title of Chief Financial Officer was added to Evans's title as Associate Administrative Vice President.

Functions

Financial Services was over all financial affairs of the university, including scholarships, grants, purchasing, audits, assets, and payroll.

From 1968 to at least 1972, Financial Services consisted of the Treasurer's Office, Accounting Office, Payroll Department, Internal Auditing Department, Budget and Procedures Office, Financial Aids Office, and the Telephone Office.

Later, Financial Services had thirteen departments: Accounts Payable; Administrative Solutions; Asset Management; Budget Office; Endowments, Gifts & Restricted Accounting; General Accounting; Grants and Contracts Accounting; Payroll; Procurement, Purchasing & Payments; Student Financial Services; Tax Office; Travel Management; and Treasury Services.

Assets and Administrative Structure

The director of Financial Services oversees all financial affairs of the university including scholarships, grants, and payroll.
