The Faculty Visits to Stake Conferences Committee was created in 1954 by President Wilkinson to help organize and administer the visits of BYU and other Church Education faculty members at stake conferences. Roy Doxey headed this committee and served as the administrator of this program throughout its existence. After the program was organized and established in 1954 the other committee members were released while Doxey was retained as its sole member. From 1958-1959 the committee and program was under the direction of the Division of Public Relations. Though this committee was housed at BYU and operated under the direction of University organizations and faculty, its purpose and function was tied to the LDS Church's larger educational system and not just Brigham Young University. While the committee existed nominally from 1954 until 1963, it was only active during the years 1954, 1955, 1958, 1959 and 1962.
