The Employment Office was previously called Campus Employment. The Employment Office was set up to aid students find jobs on campus. It took over these responsibilities in 1967 as the Placement Center was growing so large. In 1969, University Personnel Services was created to oversee the Employment Office. In 1985 the Employment Office was then listed as overseen by Placement and Employment Services to become more related to the Placement Center. The Employment Office had two subdivisions: Staff Employment (including employee records) and Student Employment. The manager of the Employment Office was Donald R. Lyman (1973-1984).

The Employment Office was set up to help students find part-time work both on and off campus.

Assets and Administrative Structure

The Employment Office was run by a manager and reported to Student Services and a Vice President of BYU. In 1985, the additional superior title was added of Placement and Employment Services. The Employment Office handled employee records, Staff Employment, and Student Employment. It worked closely with the Placement Center and the Director of University Personnel Services.
