The Elementary Training School was established in 1922 with the Secondary Training School within the Training School. Its aim was to provide a place of learning for children and aspiring elementary instructors, and served as training ground for those enrolled in elementary education courses at Brigham Young University. It operated under the guidance of the following: L. John Nuttall, Jr. (Director, 1922-1923), Mary J. Ollorton (Principal, 1923-1924), Hermese Peterson (Principal, 1924-1926).
