Brigham Young University. Dept. of Vocational Education

During its first year, the College of Education did not have any separate departments for the administration of coursework. Then in 1922, it created several new departments, including the Department of Vocational Education. The department offered courses in rural education, vocational guidance, part-time schools, surveys, evening and continuation schools, and research. In 1925, the department was dissolved and some coursework was absorbed by the Department of Educational Administration and the Department of Secondary Teaching. Amos N. Merrill served as department chair from 1922 to 1923.
