Brigham Young University. Dept. of Special Courses and Conferences

The Department of Special Courses and Conferences was established in 1966 and was part of the Division of Continuing Education. In 1979 it became the Department of Conferences and Workshops. Those who served as chairmen of the department were: Thomas A. James (1966-1970), Sterling R. Church (1972-1973), and Phillip D. Harris (1973-1979).

Functions

Organized to meet the academic needs and desires of many different age and educational background groups, provides flexible, varied credit and noncredit programs on the Brigham Young University campus and in Utah County. It offers courses for specific interest groups or for the public at large.

Department of Special Courses and Conferences is under the direction of a chairman who reports to the dean of the Division of Continuing Education.
