Brigham Young University. Dept. of Secondary Teaching

During its first year, the College of Education did not have any separate departments for the administration of coursework. Then in 1922, it created several new departments, including the Department of Secondary Teaching. The department offered courses in high school curriculum, teaching methods and training, and methods for teaching specific subjects. In 1925, the department added coursework in organization, junior high administration, vocational education, and measurements. In 1930, the department was renamed the Department of Secondary Education, while maintaining its coursework and administrative functions. Amos N. Merrill served as department chair from 1922 to 1925 and from 1929 to 1930. L. John Nuttall served from 1927 to 1928.
