The Dept. of Public Speaking and Dramatic Arts was established in 1922 when the Dept. of Public Speaking was renamed. In 1925 the department was transferred to the newly formed College of Fine Arts and retained its functions. Department chairs included Kathryn Pardoe (1922-1925) and Grace Stewart (1925-1929). Prominent professors were T. Earl Pardoe and Alfred Osmond.
