The Dept. of Public Speaking was created and made a department within the School of Arts and Sciences in 1920. The Dept. of Public Speaking was then placed into the College of Arts and Sciences. T. Earl Pardoe served as the Department Chair until 1922 when the department was renamed. The new department was the Dept. of Public Speaking and Dramatic Arts and remained in the College of Arts and Sciences.
