The Department of Provisional Registration was organized in 1968 when the Division of Provisional Registration changed it's name. It was a department which assisted students coming to the university undecided on a major. Wm. Dale Goodson served as the coordinator during the existence of the department.

Functions

The Department of Provisional Registration assigned a registration adviser to each student without a major. The adviser was to assist the student on academic problems until finding a major. Students in the department were to take outlined courses in general education until selecting a major and transferring to the appropriate college.
