The Department of Physical Education-Men was established in 1955 under the College of Recreation, Physical and Health Education, and Athletics and remained a part of this college until the college was reorganized as the College of Physical Education. At that point it became a part of the College of Physical Education. The following individuals served as chairmen: C. J. Hart (1955-1959, 1960-1962), Blauer L.
