Brigham Young University. Dept. of Normal Manual Training and Art

In 1908, the Department of Manual Training and Fine Art changed its name to the Department of Normal Manual Training and Art within the Normal School of Brigham Young University. It is unknown if they added "Normal" to the title to distinguish it from a separate, but similarly-named department. It taught courses in picture making, form study, object drawing, and manual arts courses like basket-weaving. In 1909, the department changed its name to Arts and Manual Training, while maintaining its administrative responsibilities.
