The Dept. of Marketing was created in 1934 by the College of Commerce.  Department chairmen included A. Rex Johnson (1934-1937), Elmer Miller (1938), Harrison Val Hoyt (1939-1946), and Weldon J. Taylor (1947-1958).  In 1958 the College of Commerce combined the departments of Industrial Management, Finance and Banking, and Marketing into the department of Business Management.
