In 1907, the Department of Art and Manual Training changed its name to the Department of Manual Training and Fine Art, withing. It maintained its administrative responsibilities and taught courses in picture making, form study, object drawing, and manual arts courses like basketweaving. In 1908, the department changed its name again to the Department of Normal Manual Training and Art, while still maintaining its administrative responsibilities.
