The Department of Linguistics and Special Languages offered the following degrees: Bachelor of Arts in Linguistics, Master of Arts in Applied Linguistics, Master of Arts in Theoretical Linguistics, Graduate TESL Certificate, and Master of Arts in TESL. The department was also responsible for the following programs: American Indian Languages, Central and South American Indian Languages, Austronesian Languages, India Subcontinent Languages, and Middle Eastern Languages.
