The Department of Industrial Technology was a part of the College of Industrial and Technical Education beginning in 1966. It was previously part of the Department of Industrial Education. Ross "J" McArthur served as chair of the department. In 1972 the unit was renamed the Department of Technology.

Functions

The Department of Industrial Technology offered a two-year associate industrial technician program as well as four-year baccalaureate programs in Tool and Manufacturing Technology, Construction Technology, and Design and Drafting Technology. Courses included that of Acetylene Welding I, Gas and Diesel Engines, and Concrete and Masonry.
