The Dept. of Geography was a part of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences during its time of operation from 1955 to 1965. The Dept. of Geography provided instruction to those wishing to build a vast cultural education around a primary interest in geography and the understanding of the world and its problems. Courses offered included an Introduction to Geography, Geography in World Affairs, Geography of Utah, Economic Geography, Cartography, Geography of Climates, Map Graphics, Physiography of North America, Geography of North America, Geography of Latin America, Geography of Europe, Geography of Asia, Geography of Africa, Industrial Geography, Urban Geography, Foundations of National Power in the Americas, Foundations of National Power in Europe, Foundations of National Power in the Near and Middle East, Political Geography, Geographies of the United States, South America, the Caribbean Area, Western Europe and the Mediterranean, Eastern Europe and the U.S.S.R., the Orient, Historical Geography of the United States, and Geography of Underdeveloped Areas.
