Brigham Young University. Dept. of Engineering Sciences

The Department of Engineering Sciences was established in 1953 within the College of Arts and Sciences. It remained as such until the 1957-58 academic year when it was divided into five different departments, namely: Chemistry and Chemical Engineering Science; Civil Engineering Science; geology and Geological Engineering Science; and Mechanical Engineering.

The Department of Engineering Sciences was established for the purpose of providing a broad and comprehensive training in engineering leading to a degree of Bachelor of Engineering Science.
