Previously, Electrical Engineering Science was a field of study within the Department of Engineering Sciences. The Department Chairs were Jens J. Jonsson (1957-1960), Darrel J. Monson (1960-1966), and Ferril A. Losee (1966-1973). In 1973 the College of Engineering Sciences and Technolgy was created and the Department of Electrical Engineering Science was placed within that college.
