The Department of Electrical Engineering was placed in the College of Engineering Sciences and Technology in 1977-1978. Previously it was within the College of Physical and Engineering Sciences. The Department Chairs were: Ferril A. Losee (1977-1978) and Jens J. Jonsson (1978-1984), and Douglas M. Chabries (1984-1987).  In 1984-1985 the college was renamed the College of Engineering and Technology and the Department of Electrical Engineering was within that college.

The Department of Electrical Engineering was placed in the College of Engineering Sciences and Technology in 1977-1978. Previously it was within the College of Physical and Engineering Sciences. In 1984-1985 the college was renamed the College of Engineering and Technology and the Department of Electrical Engineering was within that college. In 1987 the department was changed to the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. The Department Chairs were: Ferril A. Losee (1977-1978) and Jens J. Jonsson (1978-1984), and Douglas M. Chabries (1984-1987).
