During its first year, the College of Education did not have any separate departments for the administration of coursework. Then in 1922, it created several new departments, including the Department of Educational Administration. The department offered courses in elementary, secondary and rural school administration, finances, personnel, supervision, and research techniques. In 1925 the department absorbed some of the courses previously taught by the Department of Vocational Education. Then, in 1962, the department was combined with other departments to form the Graduate Department of Education. Department chairs included Hugh M. Woodward (1922-1923), L. John Nuttall (1924-1928), Joseph Sudweeks (1929-1930), Asael C. Lambert (1931-1947), Reuben D. Law (1948-1954), Owen L. Barnett (1955), Percy E Burrup (1956-1957), and Keith R. Oaks (1958-1962).
