Functions
The Department of Economics existed to serve those majoring in economics; any business students needing assistance to discover where their interests lie; and the general University Student, support him or her as a worker, citizen, and consumer. Courses included that of Economic Principles and Problems, Money and Banking, International Trade and Finance, and Contemporary Economic Thought.
Assets and Administrative Structure
The Department of Economics has been a part of a number of schools and colleges during its existence, including the College of Arts and Sciences, the College of Commerce and Business Administration, the College of Commerce, the College of Business, the College of Humanities and Social Sciences, the College of Social Sciences. The Department of Economics functioned under the administration of a chairman under a college dean.
