Brigham Young University. Dept. of Conferences and Workshops

The Department of Conferences and Workshops was established in 1979 and was part of the Division of Continuing Education. Previously, it was known as the Department of Special Courses and Conferences. Those who served as directors of the department were: Bert Gividen (1981-1989), R. Dwight Laws (1989-1994), and Steven W. Taggart (1994-present).

Functions

Organized to fulfill the academic needs of people from many different age groups and diverse educational backgrounds, provides flexible and varied programs, both credit and noncredit, on the BYU campus and throughout Utah County. Weekend management seminars and management summer conferences have been developed to meet the needs of modern managers.

Assets and Administrative Structure

Department of Conferences and Workshops is under the direction of a chairman who reports to the dean of the Division of Continuing Education.
