In 1973 it was placed in the College of Engineering Sciences and Technology as the Department of Civil Engineering Science. The Department Chairs were Harry Hodson (1957-1959), Dean K. Fuhriman (1959-1961), Ralph L. Rollins (1960-1962), Cliff S. Barton (1962-1970), D. Allan Firmage (1970-1973), James R. Barton (1974-1978). In 1978 the department was known as the Department of Civil Engineering.
