The Dept. of Business Education was established and made a department within the School of Arts and Sciences in 1920 when the Church Teachers College was split.  Thatcher C. Jones served as the Department Chair until 1921 when the School of Arts and Sciences was abolished.  The Dept. of Business Education was then renamed the Dept. of Commerce and Business Administration and placed into the College of Arts and Sciences.
