Functions

When the Dept. of Accounting was first organized in 1952 its function included classes on elementary accounting, office machines, accounting principles, cost accounting, intermediate accounting, municipal and government accounting, federal and state taxes, advanced cost accounting, and auditing theory and practice. By 1982 course work had expanded to include Mathematics of business, an introduction to commercial law, introductory income tax, advanced mathematics of business, accounting internship, special problems in accounting, accounting for nonprofit organizations, accounting theory, advanced taxation, advanced business law, data processing systems, contemporary professional accounting problems, IPA courses, accounting information systems, auditing, managerial accounting.
