In 1909, the Kindergarten Department and the Department of Pedagogy combined into the Courses in Education in the  Normal School of Brigham Young University. It was responsible for all the coursework formerly administered by the two departments.  In 1910, it also absorbed the Arts and Manual Training coursework and became the only department in the Normal School.  Then in 1913, the Normal School dissolved as an official entity and the Courses in Education classes were placed under the Department of Education within the Church Teachers College of Brigham Young University.
