Brigham Young University. Counseling and Personal Services

Counseling and Personal Services was organized when the Counseling Center changed it's name. Several functions and goals were added to the program in order to better assist students in their intellectual, spiritual, and personal/social development and maturity. The program again changed it's name after a short two years. Clyde E. Sullivan served as director during this time.

Functions

Counseling and Personal Services existed to aid students in many problems that arise as part of the process of transition from adolescence to adulthood. Among the different areas of assistance were Academic Skill Development Services, Career Education Services, help in choosing courses, Career Counseling, Career Information, Interpersonal Relationship Skill Services, Nonmajor Advisement Services, Personal Counseling Services, Testing Services, and Tutoring Services.

Assets and Administrative Structure

Counseling and Personal Services functioned under the administration of a director under the dean of Student Life.
