Brigham Young University. Communication Services

Communication Services was initiated in 1965. It took on overseeing production services within the University, including Broadcast Services, Communication Systems, Educational Media, Motion Pictures Production, Photo Studio, and University Press. By 1972 Communications Services was renamed Instructional Services Division. The director of Communication Services was Darrel J. Monson (1966-1972).

Functions

Communication Services was organized to have one unit where all communication services could be manged by one unit. Services under Communication Services include Broadcast Services, Communication Systems, Educational Media Services, Motion Pictures Production, Photo Studio, and University Press.

The director of Communication Services oversees all other directors of the various communication services. The director of Communication Services originally reported to the Vice-President of Auxiliary and Communication Services, and starting in 1968 he reported to the Vice-President of Business Affairs.
