Functions
The Commencement Awards Committee established requirements for granting honorary degrees. It proposes nominations to the President’s Council for honorary doctorate/doctoral degrees and presidential citation awards for commencement. It defined eligibility, identified categories appropriate for recognition, outlined a nominating procedure and recommended a time-frame for implementation. It also nominated people for consideration. The Committee also selected graduation speakers.
