The College of Physical and Mathematical Sciences was established in 1973 when the College of Physical and Engineering Sciences split into the College of Engineering Sciences and Technology and the College of Physical and Mathematical Sciences. Since 1973, the college has been administered by the following deans and acting deans: Jae R. Ballif, Eliot A. Butler, J. Rex Goates, Grant W. Mason, William E. Evenson, Bill R. Hays, and Earl M. Woolley.
