The Department of Technology was created when the Department of Industrial Technology was renamed. The aims and functions of the department remained nearly the same. Ross "J" McArthur served as chairman.

Functions
The Department of Technology offered two-year associate degrees in a variety of industrial technician programs as well as four-year baccalaureate degree programs in design and computer graphics, building construction, manufacturing, and electronics. Courses included that of Aeronautical Drafting, Digital Electronics, Gas Welding, and House Wiring.
