The College of Fine Arts and Communications, previously the College of Fine Arts, was established in 1964. Since 1964, the college has been administered by the following deans: Conan E. Mathews, Lorin F. Wheelwright, Lael J. Woodbury, James A. Mason, Bruce L. Christensen, K. Newell Dayley, and Stephen M. Jones.

Functions

The College of Fine Arts and Communications was organized to offer students in the fine arts greater opportunities for better coordinated academic and professional growth.

Assets and Administrative Structure

The College of Fine Arts and Communications has been the administering body for the following departments and schools: Art, Communications, Dramatic Arts, Music, Speech, Speech and Dramatic Arts, Art and Design, Theatre and Cinematic Arts, Design, Theatre and Film, Visual Arts, Theatre and Media Arts, School of Music, Dance, and Theatre, Speech, and Cinema. The college is administered by a dean under the direction of the university president.
