The College of Family, Home, and Social Sciences, previously the College of Family Living, was established in 1981 within Brigham Young University. Since 1981, the college has had the following deans: Martin B. Hickman, Stan L. Albrecht, Donovan E. Fleming, Clayne L. Pope, and David B. Magleby.

Functions

The College of Family, Home, and Social Sciences was originally organized with an emphasis on broad education the helps students appreciate values found in a complex society while contributing effectively to those values. In addition, the college seeks to prepare professionals who can discover additional truths of the past to enable us to better understand and serve individuals, families, and institutions.
