The College of Biological and Agricultural Sciences, previously the College of Applied Science, was established within Brigham Young University in 1954 and continued in operation under its name until it was established as the College of Biology and Agriculture in 1983. Between 1954 and 1983 the deans and acting deans of the College of Biological and Agricultural Sciences were as follows: Clarence Cottam, Raymond B. Farnsworth, Merrill J. Hallam, Rudger H. Walker, A. Lester Allen, and Bruce Nephi Smith.

Functions

The College of Biological and Agricultural Sciences was organized into a biological division to help students study and understand more fully the plant and animal world, as well as an agricultural division to provide students with instruction in the principles and technical operations pertaining to the farm, shop, trades, and industries.
