Functions
During the 1950s and early 60s, the Bureau of Church Studies gathered statistical data and conducted membership studies for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Data gathered included personal surveys from members about background characteristics, opinions about the Church, and Church activity. The population distribution of the Church was also analyzed in an effort to determine locations of possible junior colleges in the Church educational system to relieve high enrollment and Brigham Young University.
