The Benefits Committee was created around 1972. This Committee was chaired by B. Keith Duffin (1972-1984) and Warren R. Nielsen (1984-1990).  The Benefits Committee acted in an advisory capacity to Personnel Services in its administration of benefits programs; it represented faculty, staff, and administration in discussions concerning benefits; it considered and advised special complaints relating to benefits; evaluated the benefits programs and proposed improvements; research new ideas for benefits and propose these to Administration.  The Benefits Office took over some of these responsibilities when it was created in 1968 such as ongoing research and evaluation for improvements.
