Around 1972 the Art Acquisition Committee was renamed the Art Acquisition and Display Committee and made part of the Academic Enrichment Council. The chairmen of this Committee were Douglas Stout (circa 1972-1977), Robert L. Marshall (1977-1981) and Franz M. Johnansen (1981-?).

Functions

Then Art Acquisition and Display Committee was created to evaluate and make recommendations on the artistic merit of all art works to be acquired or displayed on campus, to insure an orderly acquisition of artistic pieces in order to develop collections and toprovide the necessary information and suggestions for those who will solicit donors for artistic works.

Assets and Administrative Structure

The Art Acquisition and Display Committee was a subcommittee of the Academic Enrichment Council. Originally, the Committee reported to the Dean of the College of Fine Arts and most of its members were likewise appointed by him. The chairman of the Art and Design Department served as chairman of this Committee.
