The Dept. of Geology and Geological Engineering Science was established in 1957 after the Dept. of Geology was renamed. The department resided within the College of Physical and Engineering Sciences. It was abolished in 1968 and became, once more, the Dept. of Geology. Department chairs included Kenneth C. Bullock (1957-1962) and Lehi Hintze (1962-1968).
