Functions

The Department of Recreation functioned to maintain and manage recreational activities for students and faculty; to make ready professional leaders in recreation; to provide consultation service for campus, community, and state groups; and to make eligible voluntary leaders for Church and community service. Courses offered include that of Skills and Techniques for Outdoor Recreation, Planning for Social Recreation, and Administration of Community Recreation. In addition, numerous intramural activities were offered each semester on a non-credit basis.
