In 2006 the European Studies Program was re instituted in the David M. Kennedy Center for International Studies after the program had been discontinued in March of 2002. Scott Sprenger was appointed as program coordinator in 2007.

Functions
The European Studies Program is an interdisciplinary undergraduate degree designed to combine advanced-language experience with study in humanities, social science, and/ or business. Courses are taught by European experts across a variety of academic departments and is intended to develop skills in analytical thinking, methods of interpretation, perceptive reading, and competent writing, as well as in-depth understanding of European Affairs.

The program was administered by the program coordinator, under the direction of the David M. Kennedy Center for International Studies director.
