The Petitions Committee was created in 1906. The chairmen of this committee included E. D. Partridge (1906-1907, 1911-1921), C. S. Jarvis (1907-1909), James L. Barker (1909-1910), E. H. Smart (1910-1911), C. Y. Cannon (1921-1924), A. N. Merrill (1924-1930), H. M. Woodward (1930-1937), S. T. Shaw (1937-1940), and Vasco M. Tanner (1940-1952).
