Handicapped Student Services became Disabled Student Support in 1990 within Student Life. Teri Jensen Pratt managed Disabled Student Support (1991-1994). Disabled Student Support became Services for Students with Disabilities in 1994.

Functions

The mission of the office of Disabled Student Support is to assure that disabled students are provided access to university programs. Services available through this office include: qualified sign language interpreters and TDD communications; volunteer readers for visually impaired or learning-disabled students; library lockers, study rooms, audio textbooks, Braille writers, and other various technological aids. In addition, help is offered in determining appropriate class loads and preparing for a career.
