The Campus Purchasing Committee was created around 1972. Fred Schwendiman served as its chairman.

This Committee was organized to deal with policy matters as they relate to purchasing and to consider requests of a consequential nature which emanate from various departments of the campus for purchase of items that may not be covered by policy or may be an exception.
